The Old Post Office Building is located at 12th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC. There are four (4) built-up air handling units (AHU’s) located in the mechanical rooms on the ninth floor. These units serve the office areas from the second floor to the ninth floor.


The units do not provide proper heating and cooling to the areas, and the tenant agencies complain about the heating and cooling issues in the building. Additionally, the units have passed their useful life expectancy.

GSA contracted Setty & Associates to provide complete engineering drawings and specifications for the replacement of four air handlers at the Old Post Office.

As part of our professional engineering services:

• S&A is coordinating the phasing and temporary air distribution design to meet code requirements.
• S&A is providing temporary unconditioned outside air or air supplied from the atrium to meet code requirements.
