Mary Switzer Building
M/E/P Engineering Services – Peer Review
Washington, D.C.

Built in 1942, the building is listed in the National Register of Historic Buildings. Modernization was never performed during 60 years of continuous operation. The energy report project will improve building efficiency and allow for space recapture throughout the entire building by upgrading HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. This project will complete a major replacement of building systems.

The project will also demolish ceilings to replace lighting, complete a sprinkler system, and upgrade fire alarms. The proposed improvements to the electrical system include a new emergency generator, feeders, electrical panel boards, distribution system, and motor controls to meet increased power demand.
