Electrical Engineer

Atlanta, GA, USA

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly qualified Electrical Engineer to work in our MEP Engineering Division for our Atlanta office. Duties will include design of a wide range of projects including laboratories, Hospitals, commercial, institutional, education buildings and transportation facilities. Candidate shall have at least a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and three years of experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction industry. Designing systems including; controls, switch gear, lighting, power systems, emergency power systems and other special systems. Other responsibilities include preparation of CAD and REVIT drawings, system design calculations, equipment selections, technical specifications, design reports, and design narratives. Candidate may be required to coordinate work with the client and engineers of other disciplines, attend meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues. Experience in incorporating sustainable (LEED) design methods in buildings a plus.

  • Collaboration in multi-discipline project teams to develop drawings and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors and building owners.

  • Design and select luminaires and lighting controls systems.

  • Develop Performance Specification and layouts for fire alarm and other low voltage systems.

  • Engineering calculations, equipment sizing and selection for low, medium and high voltage systems.

We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Electrical Engineer to work in our MEP Engineering Division for the New York Region. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be a key member in the project team and will be focused on multi-discipline collaboration to develop superior, highly coordinated drawings and specification documents.

Construction Administration

Responsibilities:

  • This role calls for an energetic and highly motivated Construction Administrator capable of independently managing various phases of design and construction, from conceptual design through construction documents, conducting engineering reviews, developing cost estimates, providing engineering calculations, writing and reviewing specifications, and conducting construction site surveys and inspections.

  • Building types are typically in the sectors of include healthcare, laboratory, and pharmaceutical projects.

  • The Construction Administrator’s involvement in design review and management will not only address the constructability, but also the “general conditions” specifications that govern the Contractor’s delivery approach.

  • Candidate should have extensive experience with client management and be proficient with managing project deliverable schedules, coordinating and conducting client meetings, and conveying client needs with internal design and production task.

  • With close coordination with the Owner and the Design A/E, a clear understanding must be conveyed, specific to work schedules, phasing, noise/dust/odor control, equipment/material movement, storage, parking, access, security, coordination protocols, and required management meetings.

  • Candidate should possess thorough knowledge of sustainable design and building practices, and have experience with designing or managing the construction of sustainably oriented buildings.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15 years plus experience.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Professional Constructor (CPC), Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or equivalent.
