University of District of Columbia, New Student Center, Washington, DC

MEP/FP design for the University of the District of Columbia’s 96,000 SF Student Center. The design includes a 200-ton geothermal system. This state-of-the-art student center is equipped with a large atrium, ballrooms and student concessions. The LEED Platinum Certified facility also features a fitness center and 24/7 access to this building. The MEP systems are geothermal based ground source heat pump systems and a dedicated outside air unit modulates the fresh air based on the occupant load. SETTY also designed the cross flow heat exchanger.

The Student Center serves as the community center of UDC, providing quality facilities, services and conveniences to all the students, faculty, staff, and guests at the University. The center provides a comfortable and welcoming environment for meeting, socializing, learning, and developing.

Gallaudet University, New Student Dormitory, Washington, DC

MEP/FP design for a new 60,000 SF student dormitory building.  The design includes a 105.3-ton geothermal system in addition to 1 DOAS @ 6,000 cfm (21 tons cooling), 19 tons heat wheel cooling capacity and high temperature hot water piping system. Utilized cross flow heat recovery exchanger instead of enthalpy wheel. The project is in the first phase of a two-phase project envisioned as a 350-bed freshman living and learning center that will enliven the heart of the campus. Phase I encompasses the development of a living‑learning residence hall to accommodate 175 freshman students in semi-suite style unit.

 
 

Bowie State University, New Student Center Union Building, Bowie, MD

LEED Commissioning Agent services for the New Student Center at Bowie State University in Bowie, MD. This LEED Gold certified, 95,000 SF project features food service spaces, a bookstore, student organizations, student affairs and administrative offices, recreation space and multipurpose rooms. Systems commissioned include HVAC and controls, lighting and day-lighting systems, domestic hot water, renewable energy, and emergency generator.

Morgan State University New Student Services Building, Baltimore, MD

LEED Commissioning services for the new, 138,000 SF Student Services Building at Morgan State University. The Building features state-of-the-art offices, meeting spaces, visitor center, reception/lounge space in addition to work spaces, training spaces for faculty & staff , parking spaces and other building support facilities.

Salisbury University New Student Housing, Salisbury, MD

Enhanced Commissioning services for Salisbury University's new Student Housing project consisting of 3 individual buildings of approximately 283,352 SF. Systems commissioned include HVAC systems & associated controls, electrical distribution and generator systems, lighting and day-lighting controls, security and communication systems, and much more.

University of Georgia, New Student Residence Hall, Athens, GA

The project aims to provide an approximately 120,500 GSF, 525 bed residence hall. The design intent and scope of the proposed project would deliver new beds with amenities very similar to the recently renovated Russell Hall and Brumby Hall - both high-rise first-year student residence halls. The overarching goal of this new First-Year Student Resident Hall is to provide excellent facilities for students while maintaining affordable housing rates.

University of Georgia Tate Student Center, Athens, GA

SETTY scope includes review of all subject Air Handling Units (AH-1, AH-2 & AH-3), Validation of UVGI airstream disinfection system sizing/design and Preparation of design documents for installation of UVGI system and associated electrical design.

 

Lord Fairfax Community College, Student Union, Middletown, VA

MEP/FP design services for the Lord Fairfax Community College Student Union building. The 31,800 SF Student Union building houses many student support facilities and amenities including a large bookstore, café, student lounge, fitness center, classrooms, locker rooms, etc.

Johns Hopkins University, Student Venture Hub, Baltimore, MD

MEP/FP engineering design and construction administration services towards renovation of the Johns Hopkins University Student Venture Hub’s second floor located at 320 W. 29th St., Baltimore MD. The project is approximately 10,000 SF and consists of an open layout conductive for co-working, modular offices, conference rooms and a limited kitchen area for special events.

Howard University, Frazier Hall Dormitory, Washington, DC

Frazier Hall is one of five interconnected buildings that serve as dormitories at Howard University. SETTY services include condition assessment, MEP/FP engineering design, and construction administration towards renovation of this 60,000 SF dormitory. Scope includes replacing the existing steam piping, individual space temperature control for all dorm rooms and student lounge, plumbing fixtures replacement, replacing the exiting 600A circuit breaker with an 800A to 1,200A breaker in addition to modernizing the existing fire alarm systems.
