New York City Department of Design and Construction’s (DDC) Brownsville Girls Empowerment Center & Community Hub is a new state-of-the-art facility under development in Brownsville, Brooklyn. It replaces the outdated Brownsville Multi-Services Family Health Center at 444 Thomas S. Boyland Street. It is planned as a 60,000 SF, 4-story building which integrates a Girls Club, community agency office space, and a community garden.

SETTY is providing MEP design for the new Brownsville Girls Empowerment Center and Community Hub. This transformative facility will serve as a safe, inspiring, and accessible space dedicated to supporting young women and the broader Brownsville community.

Our engineers are delivering innovative, energy-efficient building systems tailored to the program’s unique needs. The project includes community gathering spaces, educational areas, and multi-purpose rooms, all supported by high-performance HVAC, lighting, and plumbing systems designed for comfort, safety, and long-term sustainability.

From early coordination through construction, our community-focused MEP design approach ensures that the building’s systems enhance usability, meet rigorous NYC code requirements, and align with the City’s goals for resilient, future-ready infrastructure.

This project exemplifies SETTY’s commitment to creating people-centered, sustainable environments through integrated Design-Build delivery, fostering collaboration, accelerating timelines, and ensuring quality outcomes that will benefit the Brownsville community for generations.
