Retro-Commissioning + Condition Assessment + Controls Design

After the steam line failure at Howard University in 2018, two of three boilers in a central plant serving the entire university and Hospital complex failed, and were essentially destroyed.

In the aftermath, facilities workers directed all remaining heat to the hospital to keep the facility functioning during the crisis.

SETTY assessed the 18 Operating Rooms at the Howard University Hospital following this crisis and found other areas of concern. Currently, the known problems are Operating Room controls, high humidity and low air change rates. SETTY is engineering a solution to their OR issues. SETTY’s services include re-commissioning, controls design and condition assessment for the Howard University hospital.
