The Tabler Quad is one of the 6 undergraduate quads at Stony Brook, offering suite-style housing. The quad consists of 5 main halls—Douglass, Dreiser, Hand (a cooking suite), Sanger, and Toscanini, each housing doubles and forming a cozy, arts-focused community.
SETTY is providing MEP/FP design the new Tabler Quad residence hall, being developed in partnership with Page. This project represents a significant residential upgrade on campus, with the new facility designed to support modern student living standards.
The new building is expected to span approximately 82,300 SF, offering contemporary housing solutions that reflect Stony Brook’s commitment to enhanced student comfort and accessibility.
Set to open in Fall 2027, it will accommodate approximately 310 double-occupancy beds, along with single rooms designated for resident assistants. The design includes 3-bedroom suites with in-unit cooking facilities and provides ADA-compliant units that exceed accessibility standards; all spaces will feature efficient air conditioning for year-round comfort.
